Beauty is only skin deep and what truly matters is what’s on the inside. So we are told. However, we all feel the pressure of time slowly taking away our youthful look. In Latin American likestyle, this does not seem to be the case! Women don’t care how old they look because their youthful spirits shine through transmitting an aura of sassy beauty and confidence, unlike anywhere else on the planet. But what is their secret? Well, maybe more than one….
Meal time is more than meal or time for eating
Life in Latin America moves to a different rhythm, people take time to truly enjoy life and to play just as hard as they work. For example, take meal times: lunch is a whole experience with fresh food and a glass of wine over a two-hour period. Another key ingredient in their recipe to success, is the power of socializing. It is imperative to spend quality time with friends exchanging meaningful conversations. Statistics have shown that taking a two-hour lunch break with friends and truly disengaging from the workplace makes employees in Latin America much happier at work and in life in general.
Compare it to other regions, where people are lucky if they even have a thirty-minute break. In those thirty minutes they munch down a sandwich in the park or even at their work desks and check emails and Facebook, before returning back to the stressful environment of work. By doing this for 365 days a year, the whole process (stress included) takes its toll on your bodies and it can be seen on your skin. Just like in Latin America, women around the world need to take time for themselves. Do it now, too. It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s worth. It may not seem like a big deal but starting with taking a real lunch break, eating a healthy meal, avoiding junk food and actually going away from your workplace can start to help relieve some of the stress.
Working sitting at a desk all-day or standing on your feet on a shop floor is proven to be immensely bad for your health. So here’s another Latin American secret: exercise, exercise, and exercise! Latin America is famous for its music: salsa, samba, zumba and forró. All erotic dance styles that pump life through your veins. Not everyone likes exercise but everyone likes music. What better way to remain youthful and healthy than dance? Sigh up to your local salsa club or zumba class today! You might even meet Mr. Right, swirling you around with some Latin rhythms.
Or, if you’re too shy for that, there are plenty of online YouTube videos to get you started. This way you can start from home, in your bedroom, living room or kitchen. Try to do some exercise once or twice a week and build it slowly into your routine. A little dance never hurt anyone! Nobody will see you dancing or shaking your body, whatever your movement could be named – are you more comfortable with that? Well, after some practice you’ll surely gain more confidence or skills. Just give it a try.
What are you eating on a daily basis? It is drastically important to be mindful of what you put into your body. In today’s free markets so much food is processed and injected with chemicals, which are extremely damaging to your health. In Latin America, people tend to eat more locally produced foods, which is therefore more fresh and organic. Buying local food from your local farmers markets and shopping organically can add years to your life as your body is receiving wholesome nutritious nourishing food. Why you should do that? You will not only feel healthier but you will look and feel years younger.
A good tip from Argentina is to eat more fruits and green vegetables in order to lift your energy. Here’s an excellent Argentinian salad: ensalada mixta (mixed salad), that is freshly chopped lettuce, cooked peas, peeled and sliced cucumbers, diced carrots and boiled asparagus. Make sure to add a little salt, a tablespoon of white wine vinegar and a dash of olive oil. Delicious and healthy in the same time! Also, add a little Latin flavor to your water by adding a slice of lemon. It is full of nutrients and will completely clean your system. In every household in Latin America you will always find water served with a slice of lemon.
Even if you’re not in Brazil now – soaking up the sun and vibrant atmosphere – you can take benefit of a homemade easy-to-do skin treatment. Food is not only for being eaten, you know it already! All you need is avocado, fresh cream and natural honey. In a few easy steps, you will leave your skin with a smooth, youthful complexion. Simply, blend half an avocado, two tablespoons of fresh cream and one tablespoon of natural honey together, until it forms a smooth paste. Apply it to your face and leave for 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water. It takes away blemishes and helps reducing wrinkles. Keep your skin clear and ageless – the Latin American way.
Lastly, be confident, laugh, spend time with friends and spoil yourself whenever you get the chance. Life is way too short to be down and miserable. And you look years older when you’re in a bad mood or tired. Friends are good remedies. You are beautiful and this is your one and only life, so go out there and enjoy it. Do what you want to do and don’t hold back. Confidence is ageless and it shines better than any beauty product or lotion. The best thing about it is that it’s free. Call up your girlfriends and organize a window shopping session, a cinema night, a dinner or a night out. It’s important to see your friends, share your problems, smile and laugh. This is being ageless not only in Latin America!
