Take the stairs
This is such an easy piece of advice to implement in your life. Most of us – maybe you, too – are working in offices, or living in apartment buildings. So you probably waste minutes of your life standing and waiting for the elevator to reach your target floor. This could be time better spent on improving your health – and the first between the ways to be ageless. Of course, you could quickly come up with the excuse of living or working on the 44th floor. However, you could try and find a compromise. For instance, let’s say your office is located on the 11th floor of a sleek building downtown. Tough, isn’t it? With a cramped but stylish spiral staircase, too. So what? take the elevator to the 8th or the 9th floor and then walk the rest of the way up.
Park at the back of the parking lot
This is for those of you who enjoy using practicality in your lives, (which should be just about everyone reading this). This bit of advice may seem against everything you ever think about. Not only does this waste time, (just a few minutes, I assure you), but it actually takes a lot of physical effort. The easy way could be boiled down to just parking next to the double glass automatic doors. It’s what we call ‘hidden exercise’. Park at the multiple very free and available back spots in the parking lot (there’s a reason they’re free) ! It can be a simple and satisfying way to get in the exercise without realizing it. Try it, those extra steps can make a difference, if you make them a habit of yours.
Walk the dog a bit more
Don’t just let Roscoe out the back door to do his business! This time, finding that leash and taking him for a couple laps around the block make another good excuse, reason and way to be able to get in some fitness for the day. Some people have actually attested to losing an ample amount of weight just by going out and walking their dog and committing to their pet every single day. More ways to be ageless, isn’t it?
If you take the bus to work, get off one stop earlier than you should (if it’s reasonable distance of course). This will give you the opportunity to add a few minutes or blocks of walking to and from work. Especially if you work every day, the miles you clock in at the end of the week will make a whole LOT of difference. Another excellent habit for you!
Venture out of the cubicle
With technology these days, we are more tempted to use that online inter-office chat or shoot work related (or un-related) emails to our colleagues during the day. This makes communication super convenient and also super-fast. Instead of opening up that instant message box on your browser, try getting off your seat and walking from your cubicle across the room to your colleague. The answer to your question not only will be more direct and personal, they will also appreciate that you took the time to talk to them. It is also a good way to stretch your legs out and get moving!
This might seem a little silly, but if we are going all in for fitness, we might as well go all in. There are some well-known tips for in-the-office health. Trading your seat for a gym ball is something you can suggest to your office as a whole, instead of just swapping it yourself. There might be regulations, too. You might not want to piss someone off, so asking at your next company meeting is the best policy. This can also spark some talk between your boss and coworkers. Maybe there are mpre people interested in healthier lifestyles in the workplace as well.
Here are some simple free easy ways to be ageless. You can add some secret fitness to your lifestyle without really trying, or setting foot in the gym. This could be implemented on a daily basis, and watch how your five minute dog walk turns into fifteen, then twenty, then eventually your dog will be dragging YOU back home instead of you dragging it.
Exercise is the first step to staying as young and fit as you possibly can. And you don’t have to make drastic changes in your lifestyle to do it. A little goes a long way, which serves perfectly for the different ways you can add fitness to your life. Make a healthier you starting now.
