How do your New Year’s Resolutions look like? Have you checked your goals for this year? Are you on the right path, are you closer to reaching them? Some weeks ago, you have set goals for this year. Maybe you have written a short list or a longer one. However, according to those data, people who explicitly make resolutions are 10 times more likely to attain their goals than people who don’t. So make it explicitly. Do it now.
Setting some goals for the year that has just started is highly recommended almost everywhere. It clarifies your vision and concentrates your work. You have announced everybody about them – or only a few close friends. Maybe nobody knows about them. Everyone has a personal view on that. Then, after having the goals, you wrote a plan for achieving them. Every adult seems to need a plan nowadays. Only a few people are able to focus and work on their goals without a plan. Our congratulations go to those who can.
Time went by and you did something wrong or you did nothing for your goals. And now you come back to your goals and start thinking: Where did I fail? How to recover? How to act better? And the New Year’s Resolutions are abandoned, of course.

You are not persistent
This is really tough. You need to work at your resolutions and you need to do it regularly or completely. In many cases, people stop here. I can’t do it. That’s not for me. or This can’t be done. What was I thinking about? It may seem difficult to persevere in working on some of your New Year’s Resolutions. Maybe it’s easier to tell you don’t have motivation or perseverance and stop working. On the other hand, one can have a lot of persistence for eating chocolate every day. Or for chatting a lot with friends. I’m quite sure we all have a little unhealthy habit each day. It can be related to our actions, or thoughts, or feelings. We do manifest some perseverance for something we would prefer not to. For some, it’s eating a sweet. For you, it can be something different. Are you persistent? Maybe sometimes?
It’s not a must have/be, it’s a nice to have/be.
Your resolution is something warm, comfortable. This is not an objective for this year, as it doesn’t make your heart sing. Maybe you like it a lot, but it doesn’t touch you on a deeper level. A real resolution implies something that gives you power and life and persistence. It’s something you can’t live without, or you can’t wait for it to happen. This is a must be. Or it fails shortly after the New Year’s Eve.
Take yourself more seriously
It’s time for a reset of your goals. And this time take yourself more seriously. Now it’s the perfect moment for setting your goals and start making them happen. Why right now? Because you’re here and now, you have analyzed your work and achievements and you know you miss something. So it’s time to make a new step on your path to success. Consider it the last chance to get it and work wiser this time. Reset your goals now, whenever this now is.
Do it right. And do it now.
A brand new year can start today. Just think at the Chinese New Year. It always starts later than January 1st, don’t tell you didn’t notice that huge gap of more than a month. The Chinese celebrate the New Year with enthusiasm and joy and we get involved in this celebration. Some of us do not celebrate it but check however the Horoscope for the Chinese New Year. Is it only for fun? Or simple curiosity? Or they consider it another New Year? They have already read the Annual Horoscope, now they go to the Chinese one- as it is for another New Year. So, some of us do have at least two New Years in the same year. Let’s celebrate the third one!
The New ‘New Year’s Eve’
Now that you’ve got the point, you may wonder when it’s the third New Year’s Eve. When to start over again. The answer is – when you like it. A New Year’s Eve is right now, if you say so. It might be your birthday, if it’s during the first months of the year. You may really start your New Year on March 20, for example, even if you’re birthday is on 20 but in another month. Why not, after all? A new season starts in March. In northern hemisphere, spring is powerful, with all those flowers, colors and flavors. It brings us power and inspiration, too.
Any day is good for a new start, just pick one you like. And work harder and smarter this time. Work for the time left. It might be a good idea to celebrate the new New Year hence. Do as you did on December 31. Anything for a brand new chance to restart your year!
