Self-confidence is ageless and is something every person must have, you’ll surely agree on that. But what is self-confidence and is it easy to have it? Well, it’s the way you see your actions or your body and about feeling good about yourself– and that’s a difficult thing to do sometimes. However, remember that true confidence comes from within. If you accept yourself with of all your flaws and negative sides, then you would truly be confident.
The miraculous property of ageless self-confidence
Anyone can come across difficult or overbearing situations in their life. That can make a person feel down and question everything he or she does or look. Looks doesn’t really have too much with self-confidence but it does often, especially in your teen years. Self-confidence is ageless and comes from accepting your flaws, no matter how hard it is. Self-confidence allows you to be exactly who you want to be despite of what anybody says about you. That’s the miraculous property of self-confidence and all people would like to have it.
People change a lot during their lifetime
From babies people become teens, from teens they become young adults, then grown-ups and lastly elder people. Every period has its own ups and downs. During every single period you’d come across new challenges and obstacles. Experience is something that’s very important for building true self-confidence. You cannot just say that you’re confident because that’s not enough. Action speaks louder than words. Self-confidence should be practiced and put to the test.
Self-confidence is ageless and extremely important from the very beginning of your life. When a person reaches puberty, that’s when self-confidence is really practiced. You start to experience mental and physical changes. You become taller, your hormones go off the roof, you gain or lose weight, experience breakouts and so on. Many people experience trauma from puberty. They get bullied for their looks, for instance. It is very important to shield yourself from criticism because it could have a permanent effect on your confidence. Anytime – and you won’t even notice it.
People judge each other without really knowing the person. For teenagers today it’s very hard to overlook those negative experiences. They are exposed directly to people who criticize others for their self-evaluation. And it’s all about looks. Teenagers get criticized for the things everybody experiences during their puberty. That’s why teenagers should build self-confidence as a tool to overcome these difficulties and also prevent criticizing others for the same thing. Bullies are people who were probably bullied themselves and for that they bring others down. Only to build their self-confidence as a result of lacking it.
Moving from the teen years, people change into young adults. I think everybody can relate to fact that you’ve probably had some life crisis in your 20’s. You’ve finished high school, had some work experience, finished college etc. And you ask yourself, now what? What road should I take? I should have figured everything out by now and I’m sitting here not married, I don’t have my dream job, dream car, dream house… Social media has done same amount of damage as much it did good.
All those thoughts go around in your head and subconsciously start to bring your confidence level down. You shouldn’t worry because nothing great comes easy and everything takes time. Self-confidence is ageless and you need to work on it, though. Your 20’s are your trial period for everything. You try one job and if you don’t like it, try another. Date people. If you don’t like people with a certain character, try people with totally different ones. That trial period will help you find out what you truly want in life and who you want to be. This period is also a time where you can lay solid foundation for your self-confidence.
You’re now in your 30’s. People expect you to have a family, stable income, perfect marriage, great body etc. But, that doesn’t work that way. Society has a big role in a person’s decision making. There are a million stories about how people get divorce because their parents told them to do so, or about how people hate their jobs and feel miserable because of it, just because it pays well. People dwell into depression for not living the life that they want.
Now, that’s when self-confidence steps in. You need to be confident in yourself to say stop, turn back and start over again. What’s the point of living a life that you don’t want? Life is too short and you should do exactly what you want. A new start is a new chance to make it better. And only you can do that, don’t wait for external factors to change your life.
40 – Infinity
Self-confidence stretches out into your 40’s and above. You’ve come a long way and made it through everything. Your looks may have changed drastically along those years, but that’s not important. Your spirit is bulletproof. You don’t see the world the same as you did 20 years ago and that’s normal. You are now too mature to value materialistic things only, you know your value and capabilities. And here comes true ageless self-confidence.
You are thankful for all of the difficult times because those were the moments you grew as an individual. Everybody can be strong when everything is smooth. True confidence and strength are like muscles, but they can be only be flexed in dark times. You are confident enough to take on everything because you’re a fighter and you know you will survive anything. (Confidence is ageless.)
Self-confidence is ageless
You need it in every period of your life, no matter your age or situation. Self-confidence teaches you not to compare yourself with others, makes you stronger and makes you accept yourself the way you are. You shouldn’t let yourself to be defined by your income, physical appearance, your family or by your work. What truly makes a person is character. Your true power is knowing that nobody is you and true power comes from accepting yourself and feeling confident.
